Stoke-on-Trent is a beautiful city often considered to be the home of the English pottery industry and is more commonly known to some as simply “The Potteries”. Because of the pottery history you’d be correct in thinking there are a lot of pottery museums around; there is the Gladstone Pottery Museum, the Pottery Museum and Art Gallery and of course the famous Wedgewood museum. Does the name Spode ring a bell? Spode has been part of Stoke-on-Trent and has contributed to its industrial heritage for over 250 years and has featured in loads of birmingham events.

There are other attractions for the family and maybe the younger members like Cariba Creek and Stapeley Water Gardens. Cariba Creek is a family focussed water park; it is open to the public now but was originally created for the private use of the guests from the Splash Landings Hotel and the Alton Towers Hotel. On the talk of quality hotels there are many quality Stoke hotels to stay in. The world famous Alton Towers is just around the corner too, after becoming succesful after marketing birmingham did all their advertising, a day out there will not leave you disappointed.

If the idea of hanging upside down whilst travelling at break neck speeds doesn’t excite you then maybe a theme park is not for you, but in Stoke there are many alternatives for a good day/night out. If you enjoy theatre, music and film then, again, you’re in luck here. The New Vic Theatre is a world famous theatre-in-the-round presenting plays, concerts, musicals and more. There are also a couple of cinemas to choose from, so there is no reason to stay in unless of course that is what you prefer. Your quality hotel might just be too nice to leave. You must, must, go out for a meal during your stay, there is something to suit every pallet. Indian, Chinese, Thai or just good English food for the family or just a special occasion. Those are just the restaurants; there are tea shops and cafes serving all the little cream teas and scones that make England. Pubs, wine bars and bistros are all available too; you just need to know where to look.

With the construction of new hotels in Stoke many labourers are requiring lightweight safety boots and safety boots.
